A week from now, at this time, we will be waiting for Dave at the first checkpoint, the 15 mile mark at the end of the Appalachian Trail portion of his 50 mile ultramarathon.

In the last month, he has completed training runs of ridiculous length…8 hours (44.8 miles)…6 hours…(35 miles)…last week 4 hours (25 miles). I am so proud of his tenacity and dedication to this endeavor.
As of this morning, he hit 1490 miles in training for this race.
This week we also learned that the FDA is poised to approve the FIRST treatment specific to plexiform tumors, a very difficult type of NF tumor. THE FIRST EVER. http://www.ctf.org This is huge. This is a direct result of the generosity of folks like you, folks who have supported our work over the years with your time, talent, and hard earned money. We will never be able to express fully the gratitude of our community and our family for this generosity.
This is the final week. Dave ran 90 minutes this morning, and now he is in serious tape. r mode. I am prepping the food he needs for the race as well as the post race feast (thinking massive trays of chili and mac n’ cheese will sound good to him!). We are coordinating lists of supplies needed at each check point–there are 3 where I am allowed to see him, as well as roughly a dozen other aid stations where support crew cannot be. My maps are ready. Today I am making patches for hats, so we can rep some G-fo Rce! spirit out there on the course. It is all coming together.
Thank you for standing with us. If you would like to donate to Dave’s epic 50 mile Ultramarathon, click the link below (or on our home page). We are so, so grateful. He is almost to $3000. We are so grateful.
Please pray that we all stay safe next weekend–and watch for race day updates on Facebook at the G-fo Rce! for Hope! page.
Peace, all. And thank you.https://join.ctf.org/fundraiser/2241475
